Sundays in the park with weaves

I passed this weave when I was running through Grand Center on Sunday, and, sure enough, it was still there Monday morning. Alert Reader and glove fanatic Emilee shot a couple of photographs to share.

Spotted in Strauss Park, at the corner of Grand and Washington.

Another WashAve weave

Another location that has become quite the hotbed of weave activity is the intersection of Tucker Boulevard and Washington Avenue. Not sure why — that location is a vacant storefront. But it's possible that beweaved gals are tossing bits of their hair from the car window while they sit at the stoplight.

Weaves or giant eyelashes?

Foot shown for scale.

Spotted by Alert Reader Seth on Washington Avenue downtown.

Washington Avenue weave

Every time I walk past Wasabi on Washington Avenue, I do a double-take at the rug at the front door. It looks like there's a giant weave stuck to it. Take a look next time you're there.

Today, just a few steps from Wasabi's weave tease, I spotted this real one:

A Foxy Grand Center weave

Look what Alert Reader Emilee found: a weave across the street from the Fabulous Fox Theatre, on Washington Avenue. I hope the weave had the courtesy to wait until after the show to jump off the gal's head.

Raggedy weave on Tucker Boulevard

I spotted this lovely little weave (which looks like it was plucked directly from some gal's scalp!) at Tucker at Washington one morning before work. When I arrived at the office, a coworker said, "I saw you down the street taking a picture of that weave."

It's nice to be recognized in the community.

A weave can't be far from this mess

Girl, you lost your bobby pins. Sadly, no hair was found in the vicinity. On Washington Avenue.

Afterparty weave

This weave either had a rough night at the afterparty or never made the cut for admission into the afterparty. Either way, it looks like it had a rough night. Spotted on Washington Avenue downtown.

Amid the dirty snow, a dirty weave

It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

Spotted at Washington Avenue and 14th Street.

The weaves on the bus

I spotted this lovely hairpiece (it could double nicely as a mustache, no?) last month, a little before Christmas, in the MetroBus stop at Washington Avenue and 14th Street.

Beware: Many weaves look alike

Walking home from work last night, I had my mom on the phone. I was telling her, giddily, about my blog dedicated to the weave. She was amused.

Then: "Hold on, Mom — I see a weave." She gasped in disbelief.

I put her on hold, switched iPhone to camera mode, snapped a photo and resumed our conversation.

"What if you're just photographing the same one over and over?" she asked.

A valid concern. Valid, indeed.

Found on Washington Avenue between 14th and 15th streets.

Alert-reader downtown weave

My friend and colleague Evan sent me this lovely weave he spotted today at Washington Avenue and Tucker Boulevard downtown.

Have you spotted any wayward weaves? I wanna see!
